There are a maximum of 90 questions that may be included on the SY0-101 : Security+ certification exam. Test questions are both multiple choice and performance-based. To pass the exam, candidates must earn a score of at least 750. Candidates have a total of 90 minutes to complete the test.
The exam does not have a required prerequisite. However, candidates are encouraged to have completed the Network+ certification prior to taking the exam. Additionally, the exam is primarily targeted towards security engineers, security consultants, network administrators, and IA technicians or managers.
During the exam, candidates will be required to prove that they understand access control, cryptography, and identity management. Exam participants are also tested on their knowledge of mitigation techniques and their ability to deter network attacks and vulnerabilities. Exam participants must be familiar with cloud computing, BYOD ,and SCADA.
