Candidates taking the E20-670 EMC Centera Specialist Exam for Platform Engineers must be able to complete approximately 65 questions during a 90 minute time frame. EMC encourages candidates to take advantage of their free practice tests prior to attempting the E20-670 exam in order to familiarize themselves with the experience of taking the test. EMC also recommends that candidates complete three eLearning courses and one ILT course in order to familiarize themselves with the concepts tested on the exam.
The E20-670 exam will thoroughly test a candidate's understanding of the basic network environment, including aspects relating to network fundamentals, network and transport layers, and application layer and troubleshooting. In order to be prepared for these questions on the exam, candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the OSI model, the ARPA (TCP/IP) model, layered architectures, ARPA layers, Internet Protocol routing, Spanning Tree Protocols, multiple VLAN network traffic management, network security issues, and ways to implement network security.
Additionally, candidates must be able to prove that they have a thorough knowledge of Centera Universal Access (CUA) and understand the related features, functions, tools, installation processes, and configuration processes. Exam participants will also be expected to understand Centera installation, maintenance, and architecture. Relevant concepts tested include Centera WEB sites, Centera Viewer, Centera Verify, CPP/CPM, Centera cluster configurations, hardware components, and software components.
