Cisco is offering the 642-979 exam as the certification assessment associated with the CCNP Data Center Certification and the Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Support Specialist track. The 642-979 is a 90-minute exam available in both English and Japanese. Candidates wishing to pursue this certification are encouraged to complete the Implementing Cisco Data Center Unified Computing (DCUCI) course.
This exam will contain between 65-75 test questions. Examinees should be able to implement C-Series Standalone, including UCS C-Series rack servers and firmware updates and be able to configure Cisco UCS B-Series connectivity. Other topics will cover aspects of managing Cisco UCS B-Series such as implementing security, backup and import, and configuration of logging and monitoring methods for Cisco UCS. Additionally, candidates should be familiar with provisioning Cisco UCS Compute resources and methods of implementing Cisco UCS Server Virtualization features. Other related items are also likely to appear on the exam depending on the individual delivery.
